I need to run (of course) my Combat Command game - but I generally do that early in the Con - I'll try to get them in on Thursday (aka Thor's Day).
I've gotten sufficient player to run a 25mm tournament in each of the last three years so I anticipate we will have enough. I also have loaner armies.
I revived the NICT last year but essentially just took everyone (by giving them a Tsar invite) in order to get enough players to have the event. Tommy qualified by winning the 25mm tournament earlier in the day. Unless the numbers increase dramatically a simple round robin tournament should be sufficient. If players insist on running into Saturday night I could move Battle for the Iron Throne to Friday night. But please give me feedback on what players want (first priorty goes to actual tournament winners - Tsar invites (like me) just have to put up). Also need advice on board size 30 or 24? Let defender decide?
Other issues: I would be happy to play in the Biz game but need a loaner army (as would Tommy if he plays).
Battle for the Iron Throne is played using A Game of Knights and Knaves Fire and Ice 2nd Edition. Plays much like DBX but is easier to learn (and run) and much much more medieval. Rules taught if you don't already have a copy. You can bring your own Westeros army (or just make up a house and use a WOR/HYW army) or borrow one of mine. Big Battle multi-rounds 25mm using the Battle for the Throne campaign system.

Some armies with 6xLH or 6xPs aint so Wimpy.😉 That may be, but it forces people to use armies with more light troops than normal. It is a formula we have used for quite come time.

Bob
My event would be 5-7 games. I think this requires two sessions. Since the theme, Byzantine Battles, overlaps David Shepp's theme perhaps he would like to yield his session. Or, I could just play in his event! I have the armies for all 7 games. They would be preset deployment and terrain.

Mike, You are welcome to my Byzantium theme and timeslot. I am good with just running Chariot Wars on Thursday. The more gamemasters and events the better.

Well, let's put Mitch down for an event at the same time Tom's Throne game, since there are no more openings and he and I were the ones who opened up this thread. Besides, we do not play HOTT or fantasy variants.

Looks good. I can cover 25mm event and bring armies.
Thrones game is very low fantasy (not at all wacky HOTT).
Will ref/harrass players for NICT - do we want it that late? Do we want alternative Open event?
GM's try to commit to playing in each other's events as I'm still a bit worried about having enough players to cover all these games.

Also need feedback on NICT - board size? Round Robin or seeding rounds followed by single elim?

I do not have a preference on NICT as to board size and or elimination method. Mitch and I plan on playing DBA all weekend long so we will definitely be playing in the other GMs games.

OK given numbers I'm thinking Round Robin with 24 max scoring system.
I have more 30" mats than 24" mats so lean toward 30". Another question how many GMs have mats and what sizes? Mine are pretty ratty can we pool resources?
I use 4X4 for 25mm. Tables at Hcon are not standard 6X4 though and this can cause some table tension.
Now is the time to speak up re set up and resources.
