Hello,
Pretty sure it's explicit enough, but wanted to check. Rivers (of all persuasions) are neither good, difficult nor bad going, they are river. Therefore rules that require either, for instance side or rear support do not apply. Likewise, combat result that require say good going (for instance Bd quick killed by Kn if less) do not apply. On the other hand, Bw in river are still quick killed by mounted (among many other effects).

Hey Arnopov, great to see you back! That is exactly how our group plays it.
Of course, Pike blocks have a rough time crossing a defended river now... But I cannot see Pike phalanx performing well in a river crossing historically.
Although it says that "for movement" rivers are neither good nor bad/rough going, the rules define good, rough and bad going earlier in the terrain section, and rivers are not in any of those.
I have seen it argued that rivers should be good going -for instance Bd facing Kn are better off in the river than holding the bank. That said I suspect that the Bd holding in a river will find the battle passes them by pretty fast, and have a heck of a time maneuvering.
