The Glasgow leg of the 2017 GBnU HOTT tournament took place last night. There were fourteen players taking part (well actually fifteen, but Paul Fagan and Ian Scott played as a team - 1 and 2 games respectively - so only count as one) including Dave Knight from the Falkirk and District Wargames Club and Justin Crozier who traveled through from Edinburgh, with the rest of the players being members of the Phoenix and Tradeston wargames clubs in Glasgow.
The evening ended with a three way tie at the top, with Mike Lille, Dave Knight and Alasdair McIntosh all scoring 39 points and killing one enemy general each, however Mike destroyed more enemy APs so the spoils of victory go to him. Congratulations Mike.
The vote for best theme army was close, with Allan Balsille's Plasticville Police beating Alasdair's Alien Seeds by four votes to three - interestingly, they each voted for the other. Gus Caldwell finished last and was presented with the Wooden Spoon on the night - it is now proudly displayed on his bookcase. The trophies and prizes for winning the tournament and for the best theme army will be presented to Mike and Allan after the Phoenix Wargames Club's AGM next Tuesday.
Thanks to everyone who took part, to Terry Webb for coming up with the GBnU concept, John Hovey for donating the giveaway this year (a custom HOTT measuring device from Warbases), Mike McEwan for sourcing and distributing the give away and Ian Scott of Scott's Models in Glasgow for sponsoring the Glasgow prizes.
