Great description Martin, thanks for posting. Cheers Keith...it was a fun day out, with all the usual 'if only' dice driven frustrations . Photo album now added to Yahoo. Martin

Martin was too polite to mention it in his report, but, in the first game, he was not only up against an army which included 7 Kn, but was also facing my lucky die. My last 5 rolls were 6,6,6,5 (how did that get in there) and 6, which completely negated the trap set by his double ranked blades.

Previous PAWS my dodgy Gepids stole a sneaky undeserved victory off your Parthians, so a few sixes coming at me was all down to Kharma, perhaps. Still enjoyed the game, if not the slaughter . Hoping for another fun theme for the next PAWS. Meanwhile, thoughts turn to the Welsh Open, and whether to take III/19a Early Welsh.............or not. M

........ Meanwhile, thoughts turn to the Welsh Open, and whether to take III/19a Early Welsh.............or not. M Ah yes, the Early Welsh who "preferred to fight in rough or marshy terrain" and so, rather unkindly, are allowed neither if they are defending. Well, since you're taking yours, I won't take mine.

The closest I have come to that is 1,1,1,3,1,1 for PIPS at Newark! Colin

But if you remember Colin, at Newark, I stole your luck while we were having breakfast in the hotel.

Sorry to have missed what seems like a great day. Congrats to Mark. This is probably not the right place to ask, but what is the date of the Welsh open?
