I'm looking for standing riderless horses to use with dismounted cavalry/mtd infantry, roughly 1875-1900 AD.
Does anyone have any recommendations please ?? (15mm scale, favourites are Essex or Irregular if possible).
Any help appreciated.

Try Peter Pig Sudan range - there is one there.

In the Essex Zulu Wars range OS 59, 60, 61 and 62 all look as if they come with a standing horse. I'm assuming it's a two piece casting and I'm sure the lads at Essex would confirm whether or not there is more than one horse pose per pack if you give them a ring.

Martin,
Irregular does a Boer Horse Holder that might work. I think I have some and the horse is cast with him. He is FZ80 in the 15 MM colonial section. Comes with a slouch hat, but you can always do a head transplant if you need a different type hat.

Denis I used these for my element of dismounted KDG.
For my dismounted colonials, I used the horses from the Essex ACW Range (BG69/BG70).
