timurilank I just thought it would be easier to download it , at the correct size . After a few failed attempts to copy and paste, I could copy the link. This was the personal banner of Ali ibn Muhammad and I surmised his independent lieutenants made variations for their own use. My Zanj have a red banner with a slogan in white and can be seen at the blog (click index, scroll to “ Under the Black Banner/Refurbishing the Arab Collection”). |

This is what i've got for my Zanj army :
Gen Cav , one from CRU19 (E) , plus 2 Arab heavy cavalry (E) . 3 or 4 Bd Officer & Standard Bearer from AEA9 (E) , plus 1 or 2 from CRU10 (E)
4 x 4 Bd 8 MUF12 and 8 MUF13 (D)
2 X 3 Bw and 2 x 2 Ps MUF14 (D)
2 x 5 Hd each has , 1 from CRU10 (E) , 3 from CRU15 (E) , 1 from AEA16 (E)
2 X 2 Ps throwing stones by hand CRU16 (E)
1 x 2 Lh 1 from CRU17 (E) and 1 from AEA4 (E) , Art HOT136A (A) with a few figures from TT11 (E) , 3Bd figures from CRU10 (E)
A = Alternative Armies , D = Donnington . E = Essex
