Between painting Middle Eastern DBA armies, I found time to start and complete two long awaited terrain features; an oasis and dune. I have posted a brief description of their construction with photos at my blog, just follow the link. 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.nl/2017/05/an-oasis.html

Nice work Robert. I took a similar route when doing my oasis.
Cheers,

Nice work Robert. I took a similar route when doing my oasis. Cheers, Thanks Greg,
I may do more palm trees to add ambiance to the desert villages I have. Waterway are next on my to-do list and I plan to make two or three of differing width for my littoral Muslim North African.

Can I ask what type of paint you used on the palm trees? I was thinking water based acrylics wouldn't adhere very well to glossy plastic?
I think I found my palm trees on e-bay and there were different types and sizes of palm trees, if you wanted a variety.
One final question, what sort of cake would be decorated with Palm Trees?
Oh, I've just thought, a date and walnut?

Oh, I've just thought, a date and walnut? I used Citadel Flash Gitz Yellow (undiluted) and brushed all the top layer of each tree. You will need to support each leaf with your fingers as you do this so this will be messy.
What yellow remained on my pallet I mixed Goblin Green and applied the light green over the entire leaf. Wash hands before you eat cake.
