Save The Date DBA Players in Oz
Canberra Kriegspielers - in association with Mick's Metal Models, Hall of Ancient Warriors, Essex Miniatures Australia, Leadbear's Tufts and Olympian Games present
Collision Course IV - the Adventure Continues
Venue: The Austrian Australian Club - Heard St Mawson (Canberra) ACT Date: Sunday May 28th 2017
Doors open at 10:00AM with a short player briefing - round one underway by 10:30AM
This is a 6 round Swiss Chess format draw with historical seeding used in Round 1 and in the case of equal scores further into the event
The format is Open (one army against all comers), Fixed List (the same 12 elements used in each game), 15mm Scale DBA3 rules
Deployment is modified to simulate an accidental encounter between two marching forces
The cost is $15 to enter - with a range of discounts available - most gamers will get away with paying $7 only.
There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd with additional awards for the Executioner (most kills in a single game), Magister Militum (highest adjusted score for players not finishing on the podium) and something for last place.
This event kicks off the Magister Militum per Capitoline Territorialis circuit for 2017/18 - to qualify for the Grand Maurice you just need to have competed in 3 of the four DBA events in the Australian Capital Territory.
For more details contact the organiser <me> at the-spielers<at>grapevine<dot>net<dot>au - or PM me here
New players are welcome and if you need to borrow an army I have a massive stable at your disposal - about 30 are fully DBA3 compliant and most of the remaining 70 or so can be used, just without access to all options.
Looking forward to seeing you all there
Cheers

David, I'll be there leading my Umayyads - who are actually v2.2 Abbassids pretending they are their predecessors. Looking forward to the day. Regards Glad to have you with us Peter.
I hope the Abbasid/Umayyad combination don't take to fighting each other.
Hopefully you can replicate your "single handed" performance at THIS Collison Course

There is plenty of room for more

David Lawrence – II/69a Sassanid Persian – 12
I took over from Tony Cotton and his Sassanids from round 3 onwards, so I’ll have to own their performance.
The Magister Militum Prize (Highest adjusted score outside the top 3) went to Mick Sellman who moved from 4th to 1st under the score handicapping.
Gary Moriarty took out the Executioner award with a body count of 6 elements when fighting Jim Davey’s Pre Feudal Scots.
So thankyou to all the players.
But also to the businesses that donated prizes Mick Sellman of Mick’s Metal Models, who donated an army for the Magister Militum Prize Brian Hall from Hall of Ancient Warriors who donated the first place trophy Ray Compton of Essex Miniatures Australia who donated prize vouchers for 1st,2nd and 3rd Dean Bedlington of Olympian Games who donated prize vouchers for the Executioner Award and Last Place. Dean also provided the trophy plates for all but the 1st Place trophy Barry Scarlett from Leadbears Tufts who provided a voucher for each of the trophy winners
Go out and buy something from these guys, support them because they support us.
The Next DBA Competition in Canberra will be Landwaster in November.
