Stevie: Thanks so much for compiling that index. I can't begin to imagine how much work that took for you and your research staff. One simple question, though. What to the numbers in the parentheses refer to? Paragraph numbers, perhaps? Again, thanks! This really is good work! Joe Collins

Stevie: Thanks so much for compiling that index. I can't begin to imagine how much work that took for you and your research staff. One simple question, though. What to the numbers in the parentheses refer to? Paragraph numbers, perhaps? Again, thanks! This really is good work! Joe Collins Thanks for that Joe. Actually, I’ve put so much in there that it can sometimes be hard to ‘see the wood for the trees’. So in my personal version I’ve highlighted what I think are the important bits with a yellow felt-tipped pen. And Paul...yes, you are correct, the numbers in brackets shows the relevant paragraph number. Items listed as ‘(2-4)’ shows that the word appears in three consecutive paragraphs, i.e. 2, 3 and 4. While items listed as ‘(2+6)’ shows that the word appears in paragraphs 2 and 6, but not the intervening paragraphs. You might also find the following player aid useful as well:- fanaticus-dba.wikia.com/wiki/File:DETAILED_CRIB_SHEETS_for_DBA_3.0.pdf This has the items grouped together by context which makes it easier to follow, as well as being a playsheet.

The index is quite good I've tried using it.
I took a quick look at the crib sheet and I have some more comments later. Right now I just wanted to ask about this statement:
'If a BUA is picked, make an extra die roll to see which type it will be: 1 = a City, 2 = a Fort, 3 = a Hamlet, 4 = an Edifice, 5 = defenders choice, 6 = invaders choice. If Arable rolls a ‘6’ and a BUA has not been selected yet, swap the compulsory two Plough for a BUA and roll the die again for another additional terrain feature."
I don't think it's a good idea to put House rules or personal preferences in a standard crib sheet.

Glad you find the rule index useful Bob. As for the crib sheet, I did say in both the crib sheet introduction and on the randomly generated terrain chart:- “If you prefer to choose terrain, as per the DBA 3.0 rules, then do so and don’t bother rolling any random dice.” The crib sheet terrain chart therefore has a dual function, and works perfectly well whichever method is chosen. (And to be honest, I did originally create it for myself and my own purposes...only later did I think that others might also find it useful as well.) By the way, I’ve got yet another relatively minor player aid under construction, something more visual this time, which should be ready in a day or two....
