Have been going thru the final lot of a group of 86 armies I picked up from Mike Sanderson.
Mostly Book IV in this batch. There were three Book I, 27 Book II, 19 Book III, and 37 book IV in all.
Armies are mostly composed of a mix of various manufacturers and a number of the figures are substitutes from different periods and or nations/tribes. Several duplicate armies in the lot, but as I like to build BBDBA armies that works.
Prices were quite reasonable, so when contacted about buying some of the armies (I got some other armies from Mike a while back) I opted to take the lot.
Gives me a shot at overtaking macbeth on the army count.

Salutations, gentlefolk,
Acquired at Fall In dealers' room: several bags of Old Glory Hellenistic figures and Blue Moon Gauls, to complete armies I'm painting for friends, several bags of Essex figures to ship to Goragrad and a couple for myself, and lotsa books (to be reviewed onovdesedaze).
In flea market; more books (very cheap), two Corvus Belli DBA armies, Gallic & Carthaginian, (very reasonable), and a bag of Welsh spearmen by Thistle & Rose. I shall paint them up into a unit in memory of Jamie Fish, a hellova nice guy who died much too young.

Why not 32"? Why stop at 30"? (Is it that US table size thing?)

Late merovingian Franks (post Dagobert's death) This period is covered by "carolingian list". I chose to represent this army because this period (called period of the "lazy kings") was important in the teaching of the history of France when I was a child and because I want to scratch build a beef chariot carrying the king as camps. Since it is for 28mm army, i bought footsore gothic cavalry for my Merovingians.

With Brexit postponed, I placed an order with Timecast for Normans earlier this week. A second order has gone out this morning for a second Norman army and Seljuks. The Normans will round off the Dark Ages project and the Seljuks will serve as enemy for the Central Asian City State.

BTW, by "beef chariot", do you mean to say "ox-drawn" (i.e. pulled by oxen)?

I just purchased some 6mm scale sheep and cows from Perfect Six Miniatures:
For whatever reason I like having my BUA's for my 15mm scale armies in 6mm scale.
I find I can view the terrain piece as more thematic and still have the same effect for game play since it falls within size and deployment restrictions.

I've ordered some bits and pieces from Outpost miniatures in my efforts to consolidate armies I've already started or wish to complete. These include warband for my Huns/Lombards, Spears and Standards for my Hsien-pi, extra Bowmen for my Indian armies and a shaman for my asiatic steppe armies. I have to wait until the New Year now for them but I'm in no rush.... Essex order will be next but there will be no new armies this year (honest).
