I have not bought any metal for nearly two years as I wanted to get stuck into what I already have to do...but as a reward for just completing another army (and my Birthday)..I've ordered a Book I/32(b)c Spring & Autumn Chinese army. Yes it's another Asian army...but I like them so there!😁 They featured quite prominently at last year's Britcon; four of the 12 armies fielded. What is really surprising is that the starting point for army choice was the battle of Thermopylae.

I'm curious as to how the choice changed from Thermopylae to the Spring & Autumn Chinese?😂 I've liked the (b) list of this army for a while but kept putting off buying it. The story of the Sword of Gougian....plus I'm a big fan of the Water Margins(even though that is based in the Song Dynasty) and the low aggression were bonuses I couldn't overlook. It wasn't a bad idea to add the extra chariots and a Barbarian chariot to cover a few options for the (c) list.😉

I'm also painting a Russian Napoleonic to face them, and my regular opponent is building a Qajar Persian.

Excellent ‘off-piste’ choices….that’d have a few Napoleonic stalwarts chokin’ on their cognacs….. ✔️👍🏼. If there’s any chance of viewing pics sometime, I’m intrigued….

Despite my main interest being Late Rome, I do like the 'odd' stuff that others tend not to look at. If I ever finish painting them ......

The damn Skythians & Early Hu were able to connect by following the 🐎 &🐄 & 🐑 all over East Asia and bumping into each other and everybody else...Next thing you know the Skythians are squabbling with the Assyrians,Medes & Persians and the Hu become a Super Tribe and re-brand as the Hsuing nu.😂....the rest is History.😉 ...I don't blame the 🐐 as sometimes they were just dragged along.😁

My I/32(b)c Spring & Autumn Chinese arrived today.🙂
I'm pleased I added an extra Shang Chariot as along with my Early Hu subject tribesmen I have an ally option for the (c) list.😁

Salutations, gentlefolk !
Happy Equinox to everyone greeting spring or fall ! Have gotten workbench set up after moveout / renovation / movein. Things still disordered, but first batch of new figures painted. Pictures coming sometime. Own three smartfones, all need swollen batteries replaced. Was at Cold Wars, and spent a few days befor and after con visiting friends in that neighborhood. Had great time. Picked up some books and magazines in flea market, and about 60 11th century Franks / Vikings / Arabs - US dealers of Crusader and Saga-Gripping Beast minis were having sales. Also some Bad Squiddo figures, will paint up in vignette as gift for friend. Stay healthy and happy. Good luck and good gaming !
