Finally finalised my Christmas order to Essex today which completes the metal pile for a number of armies, which combined with an Outpost order open up morph opertunities for other armies.
Armies completed:
II/61b Murong Hsien-pi and II/61c Hsien-pi or T'u-yu-hun.
III/2 Early Lombard,III/21ab Italian Lombard (Avar Allies for the early lists and Normans for the later list). III/64ab Ghaznavids.(Rajput Allies for the b list).
Morph armies now available:
II/42b Tamil, III/10bc Rajputs and Hindus (including Tibetans Allies)... I'll have enough elements for any 2 of the 3 to be able to play each other.
also..
II/80a Attila's Huns and II/80d other Huns....just by adding an element of Goths to my Byzantines and borrowing the General of their Khazar Allies, Warband from the Lombards and adding them to my existing Hsiung nu I am able to field these armies.

Lucked out, when my order went in to OG15s, for some reason the card address and shipping address were reversed. Paid with paypal so it didn't create a problem with payment, but OG15 missed the followup email I sent on seeing the mixup and sent the package to the other address. Fortunately I had a job interview come up for last Wednesday that had me put me there to get the package (unfortunately didn't get the job)...
At any rate, got some Sarmatian infantry for HD, a pack if Sarmatian Cavalry, a pack of Goth infantry, 2 each of Middle and Early Roman Cavalry, a pack Equites Singularis, and (good choice Haardrada) 2 packs of Lombard infantry to fill out the BBDBA Early Lombards.
And for the fantasy side a pack each of Wood Elf infantry and archers.
P.S. Had previously picked up two packs if Essex's Lombard archers for the Early Lombards. Pity Essex doesn't do the warband or that OG15 doesn't do the archers.

- III/27 Rshtuni Armenian army, from Essex, albeit packs of my own choosing, not their army-pack.
- I/11 Akkadian army, from Eureka, but not all options.

They are not on the same bases and the Essex Lombard archers are some of their newer slightly larger figures so not too bad a match on height.
Cavalry wise the OG15s are a bit stockier although similar in height. I mounted the OG15 KN on a metal base rather than the 3mm plywood I sued for the rest of the army as I have some more to paint up and if I use the piano wire for lances they would be a bit tall for my storage units.
I am uploading photos to photobucket and will be creating a thread with a link to them (computer is running very slow at this time so not sure how long that will take...).

With all the armies now complete for the DBA Northern cup 2021, bar some tidying up of bases on a few older elements, I'm turning my attention to preparation for the Northern Cup in 2024. I know, keen or what...
Inspired by Kennedy's 'The Great Arab Conquests' and Crawford's 'The War of the Three Gods', the theme will be the middle east conflicts between 600-1000AD. As this is a period for which I have few current armies, it means buying and painting figures for 15 new armies and morphing the early Byzantines, Sassanids and Normans that I currently have for the other 5... oh, dear, better crack on!
So, I've placed an order for a big batch of metal from a combination of Donnington, Essex, Lancashire Games and Old Glory (via Timecast), which should cover 4 of the Islamic Arab armies, the Later Pre-Islamic Arabs, the Thematic, Nikephorian and Konstantinian Byzantine armies and the conversions needed for the Sassanids and the Early Byzantines. This will allow me to build 11 of the 20 armies needed.
I'm going to be one busy boy for the next four years ;-)
