I have just purchased and received via E-Bay a 1976 copy of SDC's strategic game "Cromwell" in near mint condition.
I have already played the simple introductory game. Reading through the rules this looks like a good basis for a campaign vehicle for my ECW games.
Does anyone else remember this game?

With the display name "Cromwell" I think that might be a possibility...
It was my interest in the English Civil War that first got me into wargaming, although I spend more time on the ancient period now. I had been a member of the English Civil War Society earlier in my life. I must admit that I have sometimes wondered whether the 'Cromwell' of this forum had been one of the lads on the other side of a lot English Civil War Society re-enactments.

are you interesting in english civil war ? Very much so. An Ancestor of mine fought for the Royalist cause at the Battle of Alton.

I am afraid I never joined any re-enactment groups although I did consider the English Civil War Society but I just did not have the time. Strange thing is although I would have pushed a pike for the Parliament cause my ancestor actually fought for the King.
