The History of the Ostrogoths (378-562)The video is a recent upload by Ancient Sight Channel. Nearly 56 minutes long, it does present a wealth of information, such as tribal conflicts, many lesser known battles and the political maneuvering of Gothic kings. Nearly all the videos are of the Late Imperial Roman era. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMbOvcU213s&t=1s

An afternoon was spent organising the refurbished armies, storing matched double size commands separate from single.
This proved a worthwhile exercise, to my surprise I found an Italian Condotta army among the extra elements. I remember selling one, but don’t recall retaining a second.
The extras total 52 elements and will be organised into armies,

I spent a number of days puzzling over armies that could be made with all the extra elements.
Satisfied with the selection, I began rebasing figures to build a Bohemian Army of 1440.
The roughly conforms with IV/13c Medieval German but has specific Bohemian units taken from DBMM.
Currently, 14 elements are done, but the city militia will need pavises.
Shield patterns and flags are found, therefore the next step is to begin painting 12 flags and 8 shields.
The extra elements now number 34 infantry types.

A dozen Bohemian mounted and foot have their flags. And, the city militia have pavises fixed to their bases. However, looking through the collection, I find a number of armies lacking pavises for their militia infantry; Polish, Medieval German Hungarian and Hussites. It seems I shall be busy this week.

The designs and painting of 24 pavises is complete. After lunch, the covers will be fixed to their card stock backing, brass rod supports will be added.
Adding them to the elements of Polish militia and Medieval German will be done tomorrow.
Rather than rebase the Hussite blade, I will order a few packs and redo the elements to mix blade and shooter types on the same base.

Basing of the late medieval buildings is done. This step was postponed to weigh the advantages of single or a cluster of buildings per base.
A pair of buildings looked well and ten bases would create enough variation when placed on the table.
The armies and terrain are shaping up for our big game next week; Saxony vs. Bohemia, 1450

Completed 6 x spear for the East Frankish Army.
The Bohemian army now have their own artillery. The extra artillery piece is ready for the next army.
