The refight of Seckenheim, a lively cavalry action, will appear Sunday with photos. As the creative juices were flowing, I have also prepared an article to submit to Slingshot. More later on this.
The terrain and figures have returned to their boxes, which now leaves the work bench clear for the last command of Post Mongol Russian. I will be pleased to do a few scenarios with them against Lithuanians, the Teutons and Swedes.

The next late 15th c. scenario will be up next Tuesday. I had originally planned the Teutons and Poles, but the next issue of Slingshot may have some new information.
In its place is the Battle of Montlhéry 1465, a classic face-off between two royals; Louis XI of France and Charles, Comte du Charolais of Burgundy.
This will be played out this weekend to test deployment and conditions of battle.

Post Mongol Russian peasants have been undercoated. Spent the last three days adding fur caps, weapons and a variety of shields, even found a suitable figure for a ‘monk’.

Russian peasants are done and varnished. These nine elements will be used for a future historical scenario.

Scenario tests – Battle of Montlhéry
At the blog you will find the order of battle for both sides with test results. Different deployments were tested with test three coming closer to the mark. This scenario still proved an interesting challenge as one piece remains unsolved. dbagora.blogspot.com/2021/04/battle-of-montlhery-scenario-tests.html

Montlhéry using the standard 12 elements.
Montlhéry can be played as a standard DBA game of 12 elements. Scale back the troop types and treat each division for both forces as an allied contingent; a vanguard of 3 elements, a rear guard of 3 elements and the main battle with 6 elements.
The Early Burgundian army list would need no adjustment, but the French Ordonnance should have mostly mounted troops; 4 x Kn, 2 x Cv, 2 x Mtd-Bw, 2 x Mtd-Bd, 2 franc-archers.

Swedish infantry, for the IV/53d sub-lists, are based as are two elements of Russian militia spearmen. Tomorrow, I will finish their bases.
After a short break, the Swedish mounted are next in the queue.

Reading ‘Philippe de Commynes, Memoires’, translated by Michael Jones.
De Commynes, courtier and chronicler of Louis XI, witnessed the Battle of Montlhéry and adds some interesting details leading up to and after the event.

The Scandinavians join the rest of the late medieval collection.
Originally, I had planned to do a Turkic army, but after further decided the two commands would be perfect for the Khanate of Kazan, worthy opponents for the Russians. The bland offering among the Golden Horde & Successors (IV/47) will be augmented with goodies from the DBMM list.

Miniatures “Conquest of Siberia” range. They’re lovely figures. Regards, Geoff

Geoff,
Yes, the Conquest of Siberia.
If I had to start from scratch, these would do nicely.
However, I am preparing 60 assorted Old Glory Turkic cavalry for undercoating and when done will make two commands. DBMM adds Ugrian Cv, 3Wb, 3Bw and Ps for the Khanate of Kazan.
