Looking good so far. Will be interesting to see the finished Murabits. First thought on 'b' list for kingdom would be Aragon - reds and yellows with Almughavars... In a few days, I will post a Murabit work in progress report with photos of the figures in their interim stage. There will also be links to other collection of Islamic Berbers which have served as inspiration for the conversions. Twenty-one cavalry/camelry have been prepared for their Milliput treatment tomorrow. This will mean veils for all, the lengthened of saddle cloths for some and tassels for the camels.

Today was Milliput day. All the cavalry and camelry riders have veils. The veils not only cover the face but are tucked under the chin.
Every horse has a larger saddle cloth, some have patterns scored on them.
Only three of the six camels have tassles as their riders carry lances while others carry javelins. Javelin armed camelry should have smaller shields according to Ian Heath (Armies of Feudal Europe).

Six elements of Almoravid light horse are nearly done with the saddlecloths presenting the final step and greatest challenge. The Cantigas illuminations do have a few saddlecloths with zig-zag patterns but the colours are very limited (white with black or red lines). I will need to improve on this.

The Almoravid At the blog you will find the initial steps to build an Almoravid army.
Strange as it may seem, but I had thought about selling the colonial Sudanese along with other gunpowder era armies as they will no longer be used. However, after viewing a number 28mm Muslim armies I was surprised by the similarity in dress that I converted a number to fill out a double sized army of Andalusians.
The Almoravid are next and who knows what may follow. dbagora.blogspot.com/2020/06/islamic-berber-iii75-work-in-progress.html

Almoravid flags are done, figures are finished, but all cavalry and infantry still lack shields. Hopefully these will arrive soon. Shifting gears, both the Andalusians and Almoravid have been placed in their boxes to clear the work table for a few games later today.

Look forward to seeing the completed figures and banners, but a couple of nice AARs will be good to see as well.

Look forward to seeing the completed figures and banners, but a couple of nice AARs will be good to see as well. The battles are fun. Plenty of civil unrest in the realms of Normandy, Aquitaine and Toulouse so far. Should have reports and photos posted Sunday.

My order of shields remains in transit but the past two days have not been idle.
Seven battles were played based on historical events. The first ‘A Disputed Succession (1027 AD)’ has been posted to the blog. Two more reports will follow in the upcoming week, these deal with events further south in France about the same time period. dbagora.blogspot.com/2020/06/a-disputed-succession-1027-ad.html

My Donnington order arrived yesterday. I was tempted to clean and prep the knights, but no, first the shields. Over 70 shields were painted today; these are for the Andalusian and Almoravid double size armies.
Gluing the shields to figures will be done tomorrow and then the tedious process of moving figures from sticks to their bases.

Thank you for the kind word.
I am preparing figures for a North African/Sicilian double command. And another order for shields has been placed with Donnington.
