FWIW - a quick heads up. I’ve just noticed that eBay seller mrfootballer has a lot of Outpost miniatures for sale. I thought I’d mention it in case anyone needs any. 😉
I have no connection to the seller at all.
Cheers,
Geoff

"May not post to the United States" And here I was just starting to think about a Republican Roman army.

"May not post to the United States" And here I was just starting to think about a Republican Roman army. You need a friendly local who will forward them on to you , like I had to do in reverse with an order from Scale Creep .

"May not post to the United States" And here I was just starting to think about a Republican Roman army. Plenty of other options available, claudermilk. I used Essex for mine, but since then Baueda, Forged in Battle and Xyston have all released a Republican Roman range. I'm sure some of the 3D printed ranges also have figures for this army.

Oh, absolutely. I've been looking at the Baueda line for them. There are a couple of 3d printed file sets...which might become more relevant as my buy-a-resin-printer project gains steam.

I ordered some bits and bobs found the guy quick to respond and told me he has most of the outpost moulds. He’s also happy to supply direct outside of eBay. I’m assuming he’s legit. I found the figures had a bit more flash than my originals otherwise okay. Certainly cheap. I would look carefully at the figures you’re ordering since he doesn’t use the outpost numbers or descriptions. I’m no expert but his listing for Roman triarii appears to have wicker shields possibly pre samurai pavaises that outpost used to do. But like I say the guy communicates and supplies quickly. K

Someone on the SoA forum was asking about the quality of the metal compared to the original Outpost ones. Can you help? Mine are en route or poss on the doormat…. I’ll havva look later I’ve checked my recent order against some originals. The metal is ‘shinier’ and maybe a bit softer - I’m no metallurgist. Compared to the Macedonians and pre samurai originals I have I can say the following: the ‘ new’ figures have a more flash but not much more than some of my original pre samurai figures. Looking at the old Chinese horde figures I have the definition was pretty bad in any case. The original Macedonians were much better. In contrast the ‘new’ Chinese swordsmen I ordered have good definition and no flash. So it may be more to do with the ranges rather than the metal used. Like I say I’m no expert . Pm me if you want some photos. K

He has some photos of Outpost figures painted by Steve Dean on his Chinese listings. Wow. One can use 'The Wayback Archive,' to find archived and semi-functional copies of the original outpostwargameservices website including pictures of some of the figures. On Facebook I've redacted the listings from the website and put them as a file on the DBA, ADLG and Triumph websites.

Oh, interesting! I might have to send him an email about the Burmese figures, which are not on eBay...

Outpost now ships to US, I believe…you can contact via the email for the new proprietor earlier in this thread.
