I've been playing with the tool a bit and I must be missing something. I'm not sure the matched pair generator is working. (and the matched pair generator doesn't quite work properly yet, I just haven't had time to get it fully fixed)

I've been playing with the tool a bit and I must be missing something. I'm not sure the matched pair generator is working. I stick in a list of armies based on what I and my friends have (selected to maximize matched pairs calculated manually). I'm only seeing a list of unmatched armies which seem inaccurate as I know there are pairs in the list for them. I see the correct list of enemies on the List Browser side, so I'm not sure what I should be seeing. As mentioned in the initial post, the match pair generator isn't working properly. However, if you can give me the list of armies you're working with (just the codes is fine) it will give me some nice test data to try and track down where the issues are actually occurring :-) Oops, missed the second page, but I'll still happily have the list of armies to help me track down the issues. (I know there is an issue when we have two or more of the same army)

Thank you. That is a really helpful tool. Cromwell is there somewhere the link could be stored for easy reference, please? I have created a new board under rules entitled DBA Data bases. Perhaps links could be posted there. Hope that helps.

(I know there is an issue when we have two or more of the same army) Yeah, I read the post, ran off to have a play and completely forgot the mention that part isn't working. So the list I'm throwing at it is: II/5b II/5c II/5d II/5f II/7 II/12 II/15 II/49 II/53 II/54a II/54b II/56 I tried that list again just now and the results are much better. Still throwing II/7, II/15, II/54b as unmatched. Anyway, I'll wait for when that part is updated. The browser page is a great bit of work. On the browser page when doing the rating, I have a UX suggestion. It took me a while to figure out how to work it. Maybe for the element options, just present them as radio buttons so you have to pick one option or the other. It should make what is being asked a little more obvious.

What a cool tool. Now, I can go to sleep each night knowing that I haven't forgotten any armies with a minimum of six Solid Hordes. Awesome. Thanks for this!

Will the army list corrections be applied, or will the data remain as published in the purple book?

I can set it up to give the option, default will be the published lists.

Just been doing some tweaks on my local machine and I'm getting 54b and 15 as unmatched still. Going back to the purple book I'm not seeing any matches in the list for 54b (except itself), so that would be expected there, which would leave one other army unmatched, in this case it is II/15, because the other items in the list that are matches to it have already been paired. I will also need to make it clearer that the matching is designed for producing matched pairs for tournaments, so if you're expecting armies to be matched to themselves there'll need to be two entries for that list. I'll add space to add labels to the armies which should make it a bit easier to follow. (but yes still working on it)

Ah, ok. I misunderstood exactly how that was working. Yes, putting in some verbiage on how it's making matched pairs and what the intended use is would help.
What I was hoping for was something along the lines of "I have this list of armies, which ones don't have anyone in their enemies within this list?"
It would also help to produce the list of pairs that the process created. That might help a lot making it more obvious what it's doing.

I've put some wording together which will go live when I've got it working properly (I'll also be adding a space for names, so hopefully that will make it clearer as well) The missing list of pairs was due to a typo in my code, so that's been fixed, if you use it again it should give you the list of pairs. As to the functionality that you were expecting to see, that is definitely doable, so I'll spend some time working on adding that as well
EDIT: The functionality you were expecting to see has now been added (under "Matched Group Generator") and some wording has been added around the Matched Pair generator, which now should be working mostly correctly, although some work still needs to be done on optimising the output to produce the most possible matches.
Haardrada - where are the corrections to army lists located? And is this corrections to the list contents or just to the historical opponents?

I'm not sure if this is the latest version or if the link will work? Otherwise Stevie is the best person to contact about this. acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:EU:a212fb72-235e-4d12-92bf-bb99ac73058d
