In previous editions of the wargames rules PB defined a pace as 2 1/2 feet or 0.75 meters. I expect that has not changed for playing purposes, although figure scale has varied considerably in DBA.

Irregular Minatures do quite an extensive range of 2mm scenery although I am not convinced the scale is always right.

Macedonian Cavalry at Gaugamela in 2mm?
A while ago I started on a project of Alexander at Gaugamela in 2mm range. In this thread I came to the conclusion that the bigger BW of 60mm fits nicely to miniatures of this scale.
But I started wondering wether this scale really corresponded with DBA basing rules. Concerning the Macedonian Phalanx it fits extraordinarily quite fine: always three two units of 'sarissae' were organized as independent bodies and are thus three two figures to a base.
But what about the 'hetairoi' and Theban cavalry? They were around 7,000 strong and must have covered an area of about 36,000 m² and that means I have to arrange them on at least 10 bases, each 60x60mm wide.
The army lists II/12 and II/15 offer only 3 mounted elements (Kn, Cv, LH), so if I want to cling to the impression of realistic masses, I have to double or even triple the number of the bases used!
Considering this I can't help feeling that I rather rebuild the battle with HoTT armies. In this way Dareios will get his overwhelming army, and Alexander his elite troops...

...nice eye catchers but with no funnction acording the rules...
...it's not as easy as you think. DBA is the simplification of DBM(M), but has nothing to do with DBN. The DBA camp is not really important. The size of a DBM(M) camp is predetermined and costs points. A DBM(M)-BUA is a built fortification and must be paid for with army points according to the type of construction. The army is then correspondingly smaller...
..your ideas are more fantasy for Harde of the Things or DBN fantasy or hohe rules...
