Hmm, poking at my account settings, the feature I choose in every forum possible seems to be missing — I prefer to have threads show most recent post first. Has anyone else found a way to get that as a viewing option here?

Wasn't it the same in the original Fanaticus with most recent last - or perhaps I just didn't know how to alter it!

I had a look at the Wikii part but was a bit stumped by it. Hope someone more switched on than me can figure it! (as per post on top. I hope it helps.) Okay, It appears that you must first make a page with the content you wish the page to feature. Then, at the bottom, there is a categories tab with a blank space where you can add category "tags". So if you had a house rule, you could write the Title for the rule(s) on a page, and place a "House Rules" tag for the page. If you want your page to be easily searched you must add a "tag" to the page using the space at the bottom as previously described. On the front page of the Wiki, at the bottom, you will see blue text, "Categories: Browse". If you click on Categories it will load a new page with Categories listed in Alphabetical order. These categories are the "base categories" which are each unique tags created. If you click on one, any tag related to the category will be listed in alphabetical order. Each of these listed will have the title of the page (Historical Scenario) "tagged" under that category. These will be blue hyperlinks as well so you simply click on the title and off you go! Note- You can add more than 1 Tag to a page. This means that it will display in more than one category. This is good if you Page is useful to those browsing in other categories so I, personally at least, think it is a good idea to think about how "diverse" your page is. Another Note- It is not a huge deal if contributors misspell a tag, or slightly modify it, but it will then show up as its own category. As you type a "Tag" a little box will appear below as you type. Each title shown is a previously created "tag" to keep things easier. So keep that in mind as well. I have been looking around the Wiki to figure this out. It may not be clear, nor the end goal, but this is the typical organization of a Wiki. Hope this helps!

Would a little video help so we can all see how the Wiki Works? At least the basics. If we learn more I can make another video. I will try to do one by this evening. I will post this as a separate post probably as Wiki Tutorial and FAQ.
Key thing is figuring out what software I want to use.
(also, please forgive the MIC quality. It is just a basic Mic for gaming, but should do the job for this video)

Do we have permission to transfer the files from the Fanaticus site to the Wiki? If so, I would be more than happy to get the ball rolling. I have around a weak with plenty of free time to make sure they are transferred appropriately with the proper authors credited.

I've been in touch with Chris, and he has given permission to use data from the old site as long as we credit the original authors and honour their wishes regarding the data if/when they make them known to us.
With this in mind I had a bit of a play with the Wiki and created some pages of DBA/HOTT rules adaptations that feature on the resource pages of the old site. In the main they seem to work OK, but we need to find a way of storing the files that the majority of the links linked to. On the old Fanaticus these files were stored on the web server, with using a free site we don't have that ability. Most of the files are pdf files or spreadsheets. Unless someone has a good idea I'd be willing to host them, temporarily, on my own web server.

A Fanaticus account could be created where a download link uses google drive as the host. I have seen others, in the video game world with larger files, use this in the past. Should be plenty of free space included to host all of the documents and more.

Do you know much about Google Drive? I have to confess that I don't. Does it allow stored files to be linked to from a website so that they can either be displayed in the browser or downloaded? Because that functionality is crucial.

I shall experiment. I have used it extensively for its traditional purposes, but if we can get this to result in a satisfactory conclusion we have around 15GB of free storage.
