Salutations, gentlepeople !
Helping out a friend's research project here. So, may I ask:
1: Do you live where hard-boiled eggs pickled in beet juice are part of the 'folk cuisine' (ie, you can get them at local supermarket) ?
2: I can get them, but would take unusual shopping ?
3: I know they exist, but getting some ?
4: What the heck are you talking about, John ?
Thanks, very much, for whatever help you can give me with this.

The only occasion I have had it was near Gettysburg in 1969 whilst visiting PMA.
Not as good as home made with vinegar, or French brandy vinegar, but less tart.
A home made product in this case.

The problem with British chippy (fish and chip shop) is that mostly for probably over 100 years they have used chemicals, not true vinegar.
Much better to have home made, both my grandfathers could remember their mothers making their own, and because Grandpa Sayle/Sale family were farmers, spare eggs were pickled for the winter.

Does anyone ever wonder why we find it hard to attract the hip youth into this fabulous game of ours. If they saw the quality of conversation on here i am sure we would do well.

You might get them interested in HOTT, but DBA is like a school history lesson.
Besides, they do not worry very much about the correct shade of red, or that the unit of British infantry they are using for their 1815 Waterloo army should have stovepipe not shako etc.
And that is without mentioning computer games, naked ladies on TV etc.
