I’m not sure what the collective noun for loads of sixes is but today I had an embarrassment of 6s. After a year of dismal tournament luck, I spent today changing my die AND still throwing sixes. A few ones here and there seeing off my god did little to ease my embarrassment. So, yes allnewstevie, you wuz robbed!
I should play this great game more often, it is such fun. Thank you Nick for a great day of gaming and for my HotT pie lunch – very welcome after the mornings slaughter.

I too would like to thank Nick and all the participants for a fun day of HoTT. My War Of The Worlds Jeff Wayne type Martians suffered a bit of a disaster… …no, not the common cold, but the fact that when carrying them to the car I dropped the box they were in down a flight of stairs! When they finally came to rest after bouncing on every single step all I had left was a box of shrapnel! Fortunately I was able to make some hasty repairs with glue when I arrived. Mind you, they never seemed to recover from this mishap, only winning the first game (where three Fighting Machine Magicians zapped an enemy Hero General), and the last game (where the same three Fighting Machine Magicians zapped any that came into range)…they lost all the other games, especially the one against Martin with his Paladin + Hero General combo. Oh well… ♫ ”The chances of Stevie winning a tournament is a million to one they said. Yes, the chances of his winning is a million to one… …but still he comes.” ♪

Great fun today - ten of us, plus Nick doing a fine job of running the show…many thanks to him. Well worth the travel 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Congrats to Mark Wright and the Rohirrim for the win. ⚔️⚔️⚔️🎲🎲🎲 Yes - a great event and a big thankyou to Nick for running it & allowing me to participate. I haven't played HoTT for many years - since a previous Godiva competition up in Coventry - again using my Rohirrim (which I hadn't used for many years previous to that competition either). A big thankyou to all my opponents for allowing me to lull them into a false sense of security with this fact. I am now inspired to dig to the bottom of my wargames cupboard and dust off a few more (white-metal) HoTT armies that need painting & basing. It is just so addictive. But I must also start to work on my matching army terrain a bit as well. NB: I usually answer to pretty much anything stevie - but the names is Mark Fry not Wright
