I've been doing a deep dive into Sumerian mythology for a project I am working on and was inspired to rebase my old Hat 1/72 Sumerians from DBA to HotT, which I've found I enjoy more. Also, since I play solo, I use my own basing conventions and double line my bases for the most part. First is the whole army itself arrayed for battle. I went through my box, and painted all the left over figures so the army is currently at 26pts at the moment, but can use as elements as needed. The first element is my hero, ๐๐ฎ Gudam of Zabalam. Having left his mythical axe at the temple of Inana, he now fights in the battle line as the head general of the army. Next up are my two units of "blades". I classify them as such, to not have a monolithic spear army and I believe the shields would provide good defense against foot at the loss of some against cavalry. Then the bulk of the army, six units of spears. This is the bulk of the Uruk soldiery, but also includes the kurngara, ๐ณ ๐ป๐ transformed by Inana. Next is a lone unit of shooters, Sumerian archers. Followed by two units of the Uruk city levy, or hordes. Finally, I have two units of lurkers, shepherds ready to ambush the enemy out on the steppe. Thanks for looking!

Very nice work! Deep bases do lift the appearance of massed infantry.
