Looking for something different rather than a tent, I thought I make a camp for my early Mesopotamian armies with a scratch built battering ram. Simply a sausage of green stuff on a balsa carriage with wheels made from sequins. The tip is foil from a wine bottle and the bindings just cotton. I took the idea from the book “the shepherd protects his flock” which has a picture based on archaeological seals from Sumer. The picture looks like a cigar on wheels where as mine looks more like a dog Pooh (I won’t say what the wife said it looks like!). The figure is an essex mahout with a magister militium head. The two camp followers can be removed if the camp is sacked..

Great bit of DIY Ken. Love the idea and the figures.... but the dog poo bit wasnt helpful... it kind of mis-labelled your creation!! Scarred for life that battering ram.... at future games it will be Ken's ".." rather than the battering ram in camp! CarlL

You can add the Beer drinker from the Eureka Sumerian range to add to the camp feel!
