Thinking of my first two HoTT armies ( fanaticus.boards.net/thread/3689/blockheads-all-minecraft-hott-armies) and other examples like baldie's stone army, I start this new thread here. Do you also create fun armies from some kind of finished or ready material? Show it here! (My next HoTT army will be some parallel universe NASA units from children's toys.) Cheers, Brian

My Parallel Universe NASA(toys for € 14,–)
1 broadcasting unit (Mg Gen @ 4): The devastating effects of media. 1 satellite receiver (Cl @ 3): The power of knowledge. 2 spaceships (Kn @ 4) 1 explorer (Bd @ 2): Slow, but its lasers cut deep. 2 lander (Cv @ 4) 2 busses (LH @ 3) 1 moon car (Bs @ 2): nimble in every terrain. 1 asteroid (SCh @ 1): Very impressive. (still missing:) 1 rioting engineers (Hd @ 1): you would'nt believe they are all graduates.

You’ve got me thinking.
Since I like Sci-Fi, how about a “Day of the Triffids” HoTT army, with say two or three suitably large bits of lichen per base.
Triffids were slow moving, but they germinate quickly, so most would be Hordes. A few would be shooters to represent their distant stinging ability, and for fighting in bad going, as well as repelling enemy Aerial troops. And definitely have a couple of Triffid Lurkers…

And if you think of 'Little Shop of Horrors' there could even be a behemoth 'big mean mother from outer space'! Cheers, Brian

No one can top that! …and a framed, original ‘Baldie’ work can fetch high prices from the connoisseur collectors of nouveau Hott memorabilia 🙂👍🏼👍🏼. Love stuff like this - if it gives you a game and you enjoy it, that’s what matters. Alan Saunders, in Aus, uses paper soldiers for his ECW games - they look great, cost very little and he gets some very good games in with them - hordesofthethings.blogspot.com/search/label/ecw

Dont know what he uses but we have had some great games of Dino Proof in 28mm. We have had an eight player campaign as you can really do the dirty on your comrades as Dinos move towards water, food or noise I think bit like Zombicide.

The rules used for the prehistoric hunt game are Palaeo Diet, I think. If you post a comment on his blog, that might get you in touch?

Next on my agenda: (No Triffids but some other) Big green things from outer spaceA terrifying HotT army 1x big green mother from outer space (behemoth gen @ 4 AP) 4x fighting plants (blades @ 2 AP) 6x walking plants (hordes @ 6 AP) 2x sting thrower (shooter @ 2 AP) 2x creeping terrors (land lurker @ 2 AP)

"connoisseur collectors of nouveau Hott memorabilia" otherwise known as 'people with more money than sense'? Although I agree that a Baldie work once seen is never forgotten!

I believe Edwin Abbott's *Flatland* includes a brief description of the military in that two-dimensional world - rank upon rank of the pointiest isosceles triangles (perhaps commanded by an officer or two of the higher polygons.) It would easy enough to recreate with some paper and scissors...
