I have just posted the new Q4 2022 FAQ to the Yahoo/Groups.io message board and to Keith's web site... (hw will post it when he gets a chance). I would be most pleased if someone would take the time to post it to the Wiki. I haven't worked with the Wiki in a long time. The software has changed. I am somewhat hesitant to mess with it.
Thanks:
Joe Collins

I have taken the liberty of adding this latest FAQ to the Fanaticus Wiki here:- static.wikia.nocookie.net/fanaticus-dba/images/d/d4/Dba_faq_q4_2022_final.pdf/revision/latest?cb=20221025131837 …and the original can be found on Keith’s New Zealand website here:- ancientwargaming.files.wordpress.com/2022/10/dba_faq_q4_2022_final.pdf You might also be interested in Keith’s “Playing Conventions” here:- ancientwargaming.wordpress.com/new-zealand-dba-clarifications/ (I particularly like his Littoral Landing House Rule)There appears to be only two new entries in this latest FAQ:- Threat Zones: Q: My opponent has moved a Light Horse so that the front edge of its Threat Zone touches the rear of my general's element. During my bound, since my front edge hasn't entered his threat zone, may I move my general's element in any way I want? A: No. You are limited by the Threat Zone of the Light Horse. Any part of an element inside a Threat Zone or touching the front edge of one causes the element to be affected by that Threat Zone. Recoil: Q: If an element shoots at the rear of a column of Cavalry and forces a recoil, is the target destroyed? A: Yes. If the element targets the rear edge of the enemy Cavalry element and forces a recoil, that element must first turn to face its rear. The targeted Cavalry will be prevented from starting its recoil and thus is destroyed. (Note that they still insist that Rivers prevent rear support…which is wrong, wrong, wrong! See fanaticus.boards.net/post/43366/ It’s the complete opposite of what the rules say, it flies in the face of the historical accounts (Alex the Great’s Pikemen fought their way over the Granicus and Issus rivers), it causes stupid effects such as standing IN a river is better than defending the river bank as it prevents quick kills, and it makes rivers unplayable for Pk/Sp/Wb so rivers rarely get used, or players like myself simply refuse to enter them. Still, the FAQ are only suggestions…you are still allowed to use your own common sense. )

I'm not sure that any liberties were taken as I requested such directly!
Now who is being pedantic?
Thanks Stevie!
