For anyone looking for 15mm ‘Dark Ages’ figures, Martin Goddard of Peter Pig (www.peterpig.co.uk) has started a Carolingian Frankish range. Four packs of infantry so far, with skirmishing archers and javelinmen on the way soon, and cavalry to follow. Look for the Dark Ages-Range 9 section, and packs 43, 44, 45, 46.
Looks very promising.
They have also recently added Wars of the Roses Retinue Cavalry, which look very nice indeed.

I am looking at 2 WotR armies being one of my 2023 projects and was hoping to go with Legio Heroica. However, their shop appears defunct since the sad passing of Giuseppe last year and there’s no reply to emails now at all.
Could Peter Pig be the way forward?

Good delivery and the army pack contained some bonus items.

Gutted, as their Arab & Armenian ranges I used a couple of years ago are amongst some of my favourite figures… P March, this year, was my last order – Ottoman Turks. Delivery was delayed as he lacked correct horses with knotted tails. I replied, other horses would be acceptable – but then the correspondence died.

….and pics of the cavalry and some very useful ‘dark age’ skirmishers are currently running in the banner at the top of the Peter Pig website. They look like VERY useful figures, and for more than just the Carolingian list rulesforcommonman.uk/index.php

I like PP as a company. They are available, chatty and always willing to take suggestions about their ranges. The WW2 Germans in greatcoats followed a request from me and they now form the basis of my Volksgrenadier Division. So if you want them to do a specific figure just ask.
However, for me (in the UK) the Carolingians is a straight choice between FiB and Baueda….and I’m still not sure who I’d go with.
