Sounds a hoot.
I faced 6Db Swiss in Azincourt - fearsome, especially when your army is mostly 4Bw! A tempting project - who makes really good swiss halberdiers...

Well Stevie. I will be allowing dismounting as per the RAW as your opponent will be using your army for half the time so things should balance out. Concerning difficult hills, either central points for a conical hill or ridge lines will be allowed. I will be tinkering with terrain placement rules to make sure we have a proper mountain landscape rather than being able to get away with, eg, one difficult hill, a road and a wood! As for minimum size..... Simon Hi Simon! At what point will you be announcing the terrain placement rules and any other House Rules, such as minimum size - this could have a significant impact on final army choice… P Hi Paul. I just need to think through how we can generate a really hilly board and avoid boring standoff games where blades, pikes, knights etc refuse to climb the hills and get stuck in. Cheers Simon

I have the Mirliton army pack and was pleased with how they turned out. It is designed for v2, but the army's composition hasn't changed for v3. Rather oddly, it uses the figures from their Communal Italian range, but they seem to work okay. www.mirliton.it/historical-15mm/dba2-army-packs/early-swiss-1240-1400-dba005

I remember Paddy Green telling me his Swiss are from Alternative armies.

Cheers Simon How about making all hills Rough Going instead of Difficult Going? Still gives the uphill advantage and slows speed, but no -2 penalty. (Although Pike will lose their rear-support and Spears lose their side-support) Just a thought...

Or make it compulsory to choose and place at least two steep hills when choosing terrain with the first two not being discarded and diced for until placed. You could even consider adding points for elements killed on steep hills if it fits your scoring system?

All my Swiss are Mirliton too but Legion Heroica also do a Swiss Range too. I remember Paddy Green telling me his Swiss are from Alternative armies. The Legio Heroica figures are lovely, but (a) they are labelled as 1450-1490 which is a bit late for the Early Swiss 6Bd and, more to the point, (b) the on-line shop has been "temporarily" closed since May.

They are still suitable for the II/79a "early" Late Swiss 1400-1424AD list though....another Hilly terrain hugging bunch of homicidal maniacs including 6Bd...that is if you don't mind some of the figures wearing sallets.😁

QRF are nice but true 15mm - don’t know if you can get them at the moment. Also I have some Venexia from Lancashire games which are very nice but too big to mix with the QRF - hence why my project stalled.

Come and fight in the woods my Roman chums.
