Hi all,
Would be a great chance to give my Early Bulgars a run - sadly, I’m a hemisphere away. Painted up this army as my wife (and kids!) are part Bulgarian - family was from Thrace but fled in 1913.

I rekindled this old thread, as I'll be traveling to Bulgaria over your upcoming holiday weekend (1-5 March). I'll be sightseeing in Varna and Sofia, but neither city looks to be very close to the villages mentioned earlier in this thread. Let me know if you have any "local knowledge" of things to see or do in either Варна (Varna) or Со́фия (Sofia). Thanks!

ammianus and @tony Aguilar Sadly, I don't have Khan Krum's Early Bulgar army, but I do happen to have the IV/25 Later Bulgar, which represents the Second Empire. We are a lot closer to Veliko Tarnovo than Pliska, so the Second Empire tends to be in our minds more. |

Hello from Xanthi, Greece. I am a dba/ adlg player and i" ll be very happy if we can manage a "battle" if you possibly come for summer vacation. I have many armies, including a palaeologan Byzantine for a historical confrontation!
