Awesome. What picture hosting site are you using because the lack of free ones I have found has completely curbed my interest in posting pictures here?

@tony I use postimages.org/ and select direct link Made a tower and a block-aide, idk if it is called that. Still thinking about a roof to the tower. Want to do straw, but still trying to figure out what material around the house to use.

Want to do straw, but still trying to figure out what material around the house to use. I use toweling to represent thatch. Glue the toweling to the roof with PVA. Then soak the toweling with a 50:50 mix of PVA and water and comb i straight. Once dry paint it up to represent thatch. Cheers,

Ended up using an old large paintbrush bristles for the roof of the watch tower. Added some texture to the toothpicks in an attempt to make it look like branches were cut off, but having a hard time trying to dry brush something so small.

Beautiful work, Hoffmannsama! What size base have you squeezed all this onto?
You could consider trying to impress your enemy further by painting your arch gateway (the two support posts and lintel) a bright red or red-brown, as the Chinese seemed to be very fond of such painted archs. If you had a favourite Chinese General in mind you might even squeeze his Chinese chaaracter name onto your lintel with a fine permanent ink pen. (Black works well over dried red. But other contrasting colours depending on period may work well.)

That arch idea is perfect, I'm going to be doing that before I leave on vacation for sure.
