I have seven buildings near completion.
Typical wooden structures with thatch roofing, half have a roof which slope on four sides.
Should have photos end of next week.

Corner details for each structure are done.
Later today, I will undercoat the pieces and begin painting tomorrow.

Vodnik,I did spot that one. A palisade will have to wait for another time.

timurilank, good link, and lovely work on your scratch building. Forgive me but I couldnt see what scale you are working in? (Thinking figure scale like 10mm, 15mm, etc., these two look most likely.) CarlL

I collect only 15mm, however, 15mm structures, such as Hovels, proved too large. Scratch building was the best solution. Compressing or squeezing the structures, four or five buildings fit nicely within a BUA template. Scale? Not really sure, possibly under 10mm.

Vodnik, That is a nice illustration, though I am not sure about the purpose of the structures placed against the exterior walls.

timurilank, I also downsize my buildings, not simply to fit with any particular rule set (although that is often part of the equation) but mostly as buildings often become too big (a footprint)and too prominent on tabletop if in scale with figures (perhaps with exception of 6mm!) so I often have 15mm style buildings alongside 20mm and 25mm figures. It is also quite satisfying to make your own buildings although I also indulge myself with others work when its beautiful to behold, paint and display on tabletop. CarlL

Agreed. It is satisfying to build you own structures, especially if they are not produced commercially. The process which you see in the latest posts, has taken me 13 years of ‘trial and error’ effort to achieve. The Hovels in the photo were the last resin cast buildings purchased, these were eventually sold to make room for the new generation. 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com/2009/11/why-order-of-battle.html
