Hi all,
I got really busy in real life....and have been gone a few years.
So long, that I don't even have access to my old email, nor do I even remember the old password, sio I had to start over here.
I'm Lee Shackelford
what version is DBA up to now?
Nice to see a few names here, that I still remember........

Good to see you back Lee Hopefully we can lure you over to Australia once again DBA3 is now the prevalent game after the serious bloodletting of the version wars. Overall it is a better game, with many added features. Personally it took me a long time to get used to the increased movement - I would look at a situation and think I had time to finish my evil plan, only to find the good guys already on my flank. Cheers

Hi again,
I'd love to see you guys again.
Sadly, it's highly unlikely I'll ever get there again.
I'm reading 3.0 ...and moving figures around...to see how things look...from the book to the board.
The changes from 2.2 to 3 seem to be as big as the change from the rules for DBAOL to 2.2.
Ps support for Bd, Sp and Ax...combat outcomes like Kn vs solid Bd...or Kn vs Bw.....shooting distances
I'll be teaching 2.2 to my stepson and other kids in the neighborhood though, if any care to learn the game.
Some things in 3.0 sound cool...Bw getting support from solid next to it.....made me think of the Agincourt battle ....IIRC, the English actually had a setup like that

I can understand the "...guy already on my flank" Being used to the 2.2 move distances.....in 3.0 they move faster...but some have an outrageous increase. I thought the LH from 500paces (125mm) to 4 BW (160mm) 35 extra mm per move and subsequent moves.....was bad... Egads...Wb went from 200 paces (50mm)....to "fast" Wb going 3BW...120mm... What battlefield size do most use? The rulebook says 24" is all that's needed? ?? You play 3.0 on 2.2 sized battlefield...even though troops move 50% (or more to much more) quickly?

Yep. 2ft x 2ft works remarkably well.

I much prefer 600mm x 600mm as 2ft x 2ft is just to big

When you, or parts of you, are as small as him/his, maybe size IS everything
