paul , I found Print a Thing to be cheaper than Shapeways, but I've never printed anything from them yet. printathing.com/@tony, It's easy, just go to Shapeways, then click on get a quote, and it has a box where you can drag and drop the stl file. They have options for resizing once the stl file is uploaded. Shapeways lets you choose the material as well, I usually go for the cheapest or second to cheapest. It's like uploading a video to YouTube, just instead of a video file it is a stl file.

I had a plan to build one of these from scratch but I have enough on my plate as it is.

I'll let you know if I have any extras.

Well, I uploaded the file, but it says no material is compatible with the model.
Materials are either not available for this model size (I tried it in the standard dimension and also at 50%.)
Any clues what I need to do?

Any clues what I need to do? I reuploaded the files, try downloading the new ones. They worked for me when I tried. Which site are you using? I'm uploading them to Shapeways and print a thing I uploaded them all to Shapeways. $1 USD goes to me, if anyone was wondering. www.shapeways.com/shops/prop-you

What is the difference between the PA12 and the standard white plastic?

I'm uploading them to Shapeways and print a thing I uploaded them all to Shapeways. $1 USD goes to me, if anyone was wondering. www.shapeways.com/shops/prop-youAwesome I much prefer them already being uploaded. What is the difference between the PA12 and the standard white plastic? From their website: PA12: Fine Detail Plastic is an acrylic material capable of extremely high detail and is a popular choice for hobbyists creating scale models, miniature sets, and other decorative products. Although the surface can be uneven in color due to the nature of the printing process, most people opt to paint their models. Due to the smooth surface, occasionally, models are used to make mold masters. This material is not recommended for functional parts due to its brittleness. Standard white: Versatile Plastic is a durable Nylon 12 plastic that can be used for a wide range of applications, both for prototyping and for end products. Printed using Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), when thin, it’s flexible enough for hinges and springs and when thick, it’s strong enough for structural components. Try the Premium or Smooth finishes for a higher quality look and feel. And make sure the Shapeways dimensions are alright with you.
