Not so much as scratchbuilding, rather enhancing Cigar Box cutout terrain. I bought the Cigar Box DBA terrain mat some time ago to use when travelling to tournaments by air. However I was not happy with the material's instability on the playing surface. To add some heft to it, and to maintain its obvious advantage when travelling by air, as an experiment I glued some of the cutout pieces to neoprene. And I must say that I'm very pleased with the result. So I intend to glue the remaining pieces, except for the road and river pieces, to neoprene over the next few days. Once completed I'll post images on the 2 FB DBA pages.
