Does anyone else play DBA with 25mm and 28mm figures these days?
(I do also possess 15mm too but that's an accident arising from playing Armati rules, but keep that to yourself. I began playing Armati with 25mm.)
My fondest memory of DBA with 25mm / 28mm has to be playing BIG DBA (before it officially existed) with three armies aside and three players aside, at Crosby Wargames Group. It led to an explosion in army painting and playing. And a lot of fun.
Just wondered how many use this scale given it can be played "straight" (ie 12 element game) on a 4x4 feet table.

We play DBA in 28mm all the time & have various armies & periods. We have used 3x3, 4x4, & larger play areas.

Late Medieval and early Renaissance in 25s.... 1066 (and Clontarf) as well.
Greek/Persians, Alexander, Punic in 15s... Late Rome and Crusades in 15s.
All HotT in 25s
Hey... at least I am not consistent.

Only played with larger figs at a tourney where player had bought two 25mm armies. I do share memories of a gaming explosion with FOW when it changed from V2 to 3, we had just started playing and did the IA campaign, about fifteen or so of us jumped in and each week something else was painted or added to forces, real arms race started. Still playing it now but the happy time of everyone automatically wanting a game of FOW has passed.

Rather odd. 28mm DBMM is extremely popular in New Zealand, but in the 21 years I've been in Britain I've only occasionally seen it being played, and I've never seen DBA played in 28mm. Having said that I'm building matched Hawaiian armies for HoTT that, once completed, will also allow me to field a DBA army (with the addition of two slingers. Dang Eureka for dropping them). I suppose the best idea would be to build another force to oppose them. I should be able to find opponents then

Almost all games now in 28mm. We play at least once a month. Have developed a basing system to accommodate modern 28mm. Only managed to get part of it into 3.0 (Phil had little concept of modern 28mm figures).
Did get a fair number of 28 friendly stuff into 3.0 and have added more since.
We play on 4X4's at the local game store and my backyard. Its the original size for 25+ and works great.

Thomas Fame & Glory Games That sounds like the solution I arrived at to accommodate my WAB era 28s. So as not to rebase as well as to fit models on nicely I doubled all the scales of 15mm and made 80mm sabot trays for my WAB miniatures. Play it on 4x4 and double the movement rates.

As I mentioned in 'Who's Buying What', have started on a "Mighty Morphn' Migratin' Men of ye Dark Ages", and an army of Arabs for opponents. Allah willing, will have first stand upglued by Feburary's end. Still arguing, 60mm or 80mm wide bases, with myself.

DBRRR I use 28mm and a 4x4 bloard.
I use 20mm for Wars of the Roses, late Hundred Years War and ancients. they are based as for 28mm and I play on a 3x3 board.
For early Hundred Years War and Fuedal era I use 15mm based for 15mm and use a 2x2 board'
Italian Wars i use 6mm based for 15mm and again a 2x2 board.
1066 I use 2mm based for 15mm and the 2x2 board
For DBN Napoleonics and DB American Civil War I use 2mm on 15mm bases. but for the American civil war due to the number of units I use a 4x4 board.

Would always stick with 60mm frontages. If you use Perry plastics 60mm is sufficient for Heavy Foot types to be 4 to a base (they look great shield to shield). All other Medium types (Bow, Aux, Knights etc.) 3 per base (so 20mm per figure). Lights (Ps, LH etc.) 2 per base.
Show Fast Foot by putting on 30mm deep bases and non-Fast foot by putting on 20mm bases.
Works well and is easy to convert from old Warhammer basing. Best of all figures will fit with a bit of planning and you can use standard DBX Base Widths (which helps when meeting new gamers and also with the BW movement system.)
