I have been thinking about events for next year. Here is a heads up on my thinking so far:
"Blinded by the light" - late January in Bakewell/Youlgrave
Blind general approach. Your opponent rolls your pips and keeps hidden from you, only telling you when you have run out. No army may have more than two elements with base combat factors over three?
Midland Open - late June in Bakewell/Youlgrave. Any legal army.
Britcon - Saturday 13 Aug. Nottingham. The year 2020 was 2,500 years after the battle of Thermopylae. I can't let Covid spoil this opportunity, so we will still celebrate the event. The theme is Early Achaemenid Persians, Spartans, Thebans and their enemies in 480 BC. .... and their enemies' enemies in 480 BC. This give us an interesting selection of over 30 armies.
Bakewell matched pairs - mid/late September. The usual - bring two historically matched armies and, when your armies are used, your opponent gets first pick.
Cheers,
Simon

The Blind General is a fascinating concept and I've really enjoyed watching Tony Aguilar's videos that have covered games using this mechanism. It should make for a very interesting tournament.

I’m keen. While you’re at it, any chance of slipping in a HoTT competition as well? Hopefully with the alternative 100p equals 1 BW movement system, as it makes much quicker and better games, with less 'micro-measuring'. (How about a HoTT tournament using the “Blind General Hidden PIP’s”… …now there’s a thought…)

Ummm - I think running 4 tournaments in 2022 might be described as "doing my bit!" Happy to come to any you might run however....

Hi Simon,
Can I put my name down for this tournament. Really enjoyed the Blind General twist and its effect on the game from what I've seen.
Thanks

Yes please for January.
Presumably all participants will need a dice cup or some other way of hiding the PIP dice?
