Please let me know by e-mail or private message if you would like to come along. The idea is that you bring along two historically matched armies. You play with your own armies for three rounds and your opponents' for the other three. Opponent chooses which army to play with when your armies are being used. Venue will be in the Bakewell area with the usual 1000 first game.
My planning assumes continued lifting of COVID rules.
Cheers

I am very pleased to announce that Tin Soldier UK tinsoldieruk.com/ have kindly offered to provide some prizes for this tournament. They will be drawn from their very nice Conquistador/Aztec range ... which, gives me an idea for a possible theme for a Bakewell 2022 tournament! It seems a while since I have seen any American or Pacific armies! I will be e-mailing those who are signed up final details over the next few days. Cheers Simon

Many thanks to Simon (and his colleague from Minneapolis) for running a great day of gaming yesterday.
Congrats to The Mighty Tim, worthy winner, and others in podium places.
My pairing got three runs out, and was enjoyable to use (Early Egyptian vs Early Libyan….more hordes, please….). . Thanks to my opponents for some sporting games, and to all for a grand day out.
Cheers
Martin

Congratulations to Tim Rogers for coming first. Also to Paul Murgatroyd and Colin O'Shea for coming 2nd and third respectively. Prizes for the top three were kindly provided by Tin Soldier UK from their 15mm Conquistador range.
The rankings were as follows, with ties (where possible) been sorted by taking into account own elements lost during the tournament:
1. Tim Rogers Picts and early Anglo Saxon 2. Paul Murgatroyd Welsh and Anglo Danish 3. Colin O’Shea Early Egyptian and Early Libyan 4. Martin Myers Galatians and Mithridatic 5. Martin Smith Early Egyptian and Early Libyan 6= Mark Johnson Thracians and Early Imperial Romans 6= Simon Wilson Marian Roman and Dacians with Sarmatian allies 8. Paddy Myers Italian Condotta and Later Hungarian 9. Stephen Finn Viking Raiders and Strathclyde British 10. John Saunders Scots Irish and Ancient British 11. Tom Whitehead Alexandrian Macedonian and Kyrenean Greek 12. Neil Mason Later Sargonid and Midianite Arab 13. Pete Duckworth Rajput and Other Hindu 14. Tim Kohler Hittite Empire and Middle Assyrian 15. Frank Shaw Alexandrian Macedonian and Thracians 16. Stevie Andrews Polybians and Gauls
Next tournament in late January/Early February , all being well! Might include Blind General approach for Pips!!
Cheers,
Simon

Thank you, Simon, for continuing to shine a beacon of DBA tournament light in these troubled times.
Well done Tim; from DBA newbie to champion in no time and without much opportunity to play.
For those interested I took Nabataean and Late Judean - not the armies listed above. My opponents always chose the same army, I’m pleased to say...

Ha!…the Cockney Casanova finds his true position in society…at the bottom. Well deserved though: too many lost battles and too many draws. Especially against Peter Duckworth with his two Indian armies overloaded with Elephants. Low PIP scores prevented anything from happening except shooting, causing just two casualties each. The battle with Stephen Finn had the Viking Raiding 3Bd under my command 3-0 up early in the engagement, but I then found my victorious left wing with practically no one to fight and scattered, and low PIP scores prevented these from helping my right wing as four Strathclyde Cavalry hit them, resulting in a 3-4 loss to me! A very nice event in a very nice setting with very nice people. Thanks Simon. (Although that ploughman’s lunch had sooooo much cheese in it I won’t be able to face the stuff for another couple of months! But the beer was nice and cheap )
