The number of companies offering battlemats has expanding along with new materials and options, making any selection a daunting task. The presentation of nine companies is well done and is 27.22 minutes long. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KOgHiYdAjSYI like the option of a dual sided mat; one sea, the other a generic grassland.

This should be helpful, especially since the prices and shipping to my place are pretty steep, and one of the reasons I have not purchased one yet.

I saw this video a while ago and it is very useful with Mel's typical high energy delivery. Recommended.

Fabulous video from an excellent presenter. I would go for the Cigar Box DBA mat, which would give grassland and desert. But the postage to Oz is frightening.
Cheers

Years ago, I looked at Baueda game mats for our club, but their supply dried up. Interest was placed on the backburner until I stumbled on this video. Now, five suppliers within the EU; Lithuania, Poland, Italy and two in Slovakia and most will do custom work. Nice

Cheers Jim I know it is academic for you due to shipping costs, but I inquired about the double sided mats, and was told that the double sided option was only done through past kickstarters. However, they did mention that there will be more kickstarters at some point.

I just have the DBA terrain parts (missing the battlemat itself), and they are great. Use them for all my dba when I don't have regular 3d terrain. Also highly recommend Cigarbox (2 sided, and they'll likely do a kickstarter this summer again). They look amazing. Only issue I would have is it's fleece, so harder to just "slide" stands around which works well for the Mats by Mars.

I am one of those that just does not like to "slide" stands around. I am a self confessed figure fidgeter.

Last Sunday when my daughter and son in law popped over, he mentioned that he was surprised I did not have one of those shuffle sticks (I do not know what they are called), that you see in war movies where they push the blocks around on the map table.

Ala the movie "The Battle of Britain", where they're showing all the different enemy flights and scrambled fighters all over a big map! That would be next level.
