I think I may have found a potential contradiction in the HoTT 2.1 rules.
Page 16, “Passing Over, Under or Through Troops” (what DBA would call “Interpenetration”):- * Sneakers can pass or be passed through by any friends or enemy. * ………… * ………… * ………… * Aerials can pass over any ground troops except when recoiling. * …………
The 1st bullet point says recoiling Aerials can pass through Sneakers… The 5th bullet point says recoiling Aerials cannot pass through Sneakers… …so which is it?
Personally, I think recoiling Aerials should be allowed to pass through Sneakers.
After all, recoiling ground troops apparently can, and it will be a bit odd if 1 to 3 individual people are unable to have any effect on 500 or more ground troops from recoiling, yet they can stop 500 or more Aerial troops from doing the same. (However, recoiling Generals will be destroyed…see “Recoiling” on page 24)
So what does the HoTT playing community think?

I guess I would rule not - the intent of the bullet-5 rule seems to be that recoiling Aerials cannot pass over any ground troops, period. Doesn't matter whether those troops are Sneakers or Behemoths.
Also, the sneaker rule is about passing *through* whereas the aerial rule is about passing *over*. Are we sure these are equivalent actions?

That’s a good point Kaiphranos. Very well then…how does the following sound?
Page 17 bottom paragraph says that all combat involving Aerials is done at ground level. Recoiling is an involuntary outcome caused by close combat. Page 16 “Interpenetration” 5th bullet point says recoiling Aerials can’t fly over ground troops. But the “Interpenetration” 1st bullet points says anyone can recoil through Sneakers.
Therefore, recoiling Aerials are physically picked-up and placed beyond the Sneakers. They are not flying over, but are passing through at ground level, like other troops do. (Although a recoiling General would be destroyed by Sneakers - see page 24 first bullet point)
This interpretation satisfies all the above rules, and doesn’t break any of them.

Alright, I would buy that. It is consistent with the "pass through" and "pass under" language in the section on recoiling.
