I learnt this evening that Giuseppe, who produced the Legio Heroica range, died last weekend. He was a man of great charm.

This is sad news.
I received this evening an email from his nephews stating his passing.

That's very sad news indeed. I've always had a soft spot for the Legio Heroica figures. He'll certainly be missed. Condolences to his family and friends.

I haven't had the please of painting any Legio Heroica figures, but they look stellar and have recommended them on several ocasions.
Very sad indeed.

I have numerous Legio DBA armies and they brought me great joy to paint and play with. Giuseppe was a true gentleman and a pleasure to communicate with. His armies are now extra special to me.

A very courteous friendly gentleman who made excellent miniatures. A sad loss.

A sad loss indeed for our fair hobby. Here's a picture of Giuseppe, from a couple years ago, in happier times. As Eric noted above, his miniatures have brought many of us considerable joy to paint and to move about the table. Grazie, Giuseppe! Riposare in pace.

I am so sad to hear of this. I only discovered the Legio Heroica range recently when Olympian Games started selling them.
My heartfelt condolences to his family

That's incredibly sad news. The best are always taken too early.

An announcement on the Legio Heroica website earlier this week suggests that Giuseppe's nephews are planning to carry on the business, although there may be a few teething troubles.

Eric Donaldson and I saw that too. That was a very pleasant surprise. I had assumed, at best, the "Nephews of Giuseppe" would simply fulfill orders that had already been placed and then begin to shutter operations.
Nice to know we can still contemplate future acquisitions. (I'm thinking maybe Alans?) Might be best for us to order sooner rather than later. The "NoG" might come to realize it's really a lot of work!
