Hi I am considering building a I/15 Late Amorite army but am wondering about depicting the General in a Battle car or that due to the time period, the use of Battle cars would have changed to Light Chariots?
Certainly at the beginning of the time period along with the Summerians, the Amorites would have most probably be using Battle cars. But by the time of the Reign of Hurrambi and the incursions by the Hittites would they not be using light chariots instead?
Has anyone used a Lch instead of a Battle car, or are the later more popular?

Thanks Martin, I thought it may be a case that some armies may have been built before essex released the Platform cars, but if they are supplying them in the army packs then thats good enough for me.

Tallis as a guide. The piece is cobbled from an old limber, card stock and four mules sans baggage. From the photos you might be able to see two warriors on the platform and two alongside the car with its blue banner. dbagora.blogspot.com/2018/01/historical-match-up-old-kingdom_14.html

Many thanks for that. 😊

Essex are known for (read as ‘notorious for...’ 😊) picking plenty of TLAR* in their pre-packaged armies....this was probably one of them. Bought it 5+ years ago for a PAWS tournament. It’s a very effective army - 3Bd and 3Ax en masse. Fast and effective, relatively uneffected by dodgy terrain. *That Looks About Right (TLAR navigation system, from aviation 😎).

The current Essex I/15 army pack has a BS34b listed for the General - which doesn't appear to exist anywhere else on their website. Goodness knows what model they actually supply; although you could always ask them.

Robert's scratchbuilt, platform car seems ideal. Creating something like that is probably the best approach for the LCh (Gen) element in that army. -- I liked the figures in the Essex "TLAR" army-pack, so I went with that. The army-list does span three full centuries and they overlap and face the I/17a Hyksos (who likely developed the chariot), so I think a traditional Light Chariot is at least reasonably plausible by the end. I also liked this very stylized, "Ben Hur" like image of Hammurabi. (Hey, it is from National Geographic.) He dates to the early period of the list, so a true chariot is not accurate. Nonetheless, here's my LCh (Gen) for my I/15 Later Amorites (Old Babylonians). Another image here shows the Solid Bow (Gen) option. (Just look for the other parasol.) That Camp features the steele of the Hammurabic Code, out on parade to inspire (or warn?) the troops.

IIRC it was an army which quite a few players brought, as it seemed like ‘the one with best prospects’ out of the list for that particular (themed) tournament. And biblical always quick n easy to paint, so I grabbed one.

They sport an impressive, 25-14 record in the NAGS Empire. Seems they have especially had their way with the Mitannni (6 wins, no losses).
