Save the Date DBA Players in Oz
Canberra Regional Wargames Group in association with Hall of Ancient Warriors, Mick's Metal Models, Essex Miniatures Australia, Olympian Games and Leadbear's Tufts present
Collision Course VI - DBA With A Twist
The now internationally renowned <Thanks Tony Aguilar> Modified Deployment DBA Tournament is back for 2021 in a new venue. Collision Course changes the deployment rules to simulate the accidental encounter between two armies marching.
Venue: Lanyon Vikings Club - Heidelberg St Conder, Australia Capital Territory
Date: Sunday May 23rd
Doors Open at 11:00AM - all entrants must have their temperature checked and use the CBR Check in App when they enter the venue.
This will be a 5 round Swiss Chess format draw with historical seeding used in Round 1 and in the case of equal scores.
The format is Open (one army against all comers), Fixed List (the same 12 elements used in each game), 15mm Scale, DBA3 rules
Dismounting rules are played as written - but elements that can dismount will attract a higher rating for the purposes of the Magister Militum (handicap) Prize.
Deployment is modified to simulate an accidental encounter between two marching forces.
The cost is $18 to enter with a range of discounts - most players will pay only $10
There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd with additional minor prizes for those finishing outside the top 3: * Executioner Award - most kills in a single battle * Magister Militum Prize - highest adjusted score
Last place will not go home empty handed either
This will be the second event in the Magister Militum per Capitoline Territorialis circuit for 2021/22 - to qualify for "The Grand Maurice" you need to compete in at least 3 of the DBA Events held in the Canberrra Region.
Looking forward to seeing you there
Cheers

That's too bad Jim. Our next big event in the ACT is Landwaster - November 28th - maybe you can tweak your next Canberra holiday Cheers

Peter, check out Tony Aguilar's latest video where Collision Course is used and the Mongols feature in 2 of the games. Still trying to work out my inner army 🤔. Cheers,

Mark, Greg and Peter
That is excellent news - I look forward to seeing your inner armies dancing around the table.
I think I am settled on Trapezuntine Byzantines, if there is an odd number of players you will see this army - rebased and built up to Purple Compliance hit the table with a vengeance.
I should also have finished the Feudal Spanish (c list), Low Countries (a list) and possibly Early Bedouin (a list) by then too. Only the Spaniards would be considered for a tournament army - but I was always fond of the Trapz
Cheers
