After a stint eating too much hospital food, I've finished the last little piece for the Dwarves. Underground Gateway. With 15mm figures.

The Yanks are Coming (singing chorus please). I am working on the bases for my Weird WWI American army and will post pictures when it's done. However as a glimpse of the fun these threads may be of interest. This SPAD is a Flyer representing Freeman in the story. And yes, I had a custom decal made for the Jack of Spades for the lower wing. Yes, I know, that is not a proper camo scheme for a SPAD XIII, but if you know the story, then you will know that the war has gone on for 7 years and it's 1921. That being the case the official camouflage scheme as of 1920-21 for US aircraft was this and consisted of purple-red (mauve), straw and dull black green, with a light undersurface. That being he case I took the pattern from the Roland D.VI which was hte one of the test aircraft at McCook Field. This FT17 will be either a Knight or Rider, as the battle dictates. Terry

A bit more of the army. Yes, I know that too is not what one would expect of an American Ft7 camouflage scheme, as it looks more mid-30's French. However, the heart insignia on he turret pretty much identifies it as a American tnak and so even if hte scehem is not accuarte it sure was fun to do. And the last little bit for now, he Packard Mk I Walker. And again for those who may question the camouflage scheme, I took it from an American railway gun of the period. This army, and the German army I will do next to oppose it, are based on the wonderful "The Great Undead War" series by Joseph Nassise. More to follow, Terry

Who's painting Hott never really took off, a pity because I personally find it provides a refreshing break from historical figures when I'm feeling more than usually unmotivated. A bit of creativity and imagination to brighten the day, even when the subject is ... Goblins!
Bolg of the North (Khurasan) Bolgs bodyguard (Khurasan) Scramblers over the mountain (Rank & File, Ral Partha)

Nice painting. No doubt others had overlooked its existence including yours truly.
Coincidentally, I spent last night reviewing the 18th century Melnibonean collection for a possible refurb. The ‘high gloss’ look should be improved with a coat of mat varnish, but I should take photos of the collection for the archive.

Mark Leslie is quite right…we should make more use of this thread. 👍 Now I don’t have many HoTT armies (and my ability to take photos matches my painting skills!), but here are my “War of the Worlds Martians”:- What you see are three ‘Fighting Machines’ (magicians), four ‘Tripods’ (blades), and two ‘Harvester Crawlers’ (beasts), with a half-buried cylinder in a crater as a Stronghold. And here is a picture showing their size compared to 15mm DBA Psiloi:- This is my giant radioactive ant army from the 1954 film “ Them!”:- This army consists of one Telepathic Controller Ant (magician), nine Giant Ants (beasts), and one Giant Flying Ant (flyer). I’m currently working on Dr Who style Dalek and Cyberman armies with figures from Warlord Games, but these will be 28mm figures on 40mm bases (see fanaticus.boards.net/post/36960/ ) As Arthur C. Clark famously stated:- “A sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic”.🛸

The Melnibonean project is posted to the second blog (18th Century Sojourn). There are photos of their current state. I am playing with a combination of uniform colours to separate line from guard units. Most figures will be rebased as the figures will be easier to paint when place on painting sticks. 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com/2021/06/the-melnibonean-restoration.html

The first two batches are done which leave the guard and artillery as next. Between painting I visualise the towns, fortifications and ships that will need building. Before this can take place, I will need to map the archipelago where this all takes place. Third batch done, the guard and artillery.
The Dark Elf skin tone turned out better, I feel now compelled to correct the first two batches. It never fails.
Batch four tomorrow, the cavalry which include guard, line, and scouts.
