The rule does say combined with a larger Hill so this seems to contemplate a larger Hill that you have to slog through to reach the BUA but once reaching it you are no longer "downhill" or in Difficult Going for Combat purposes. Tom - yes you’d no longer be downhill, as stated in the rules, but if a difficult hill you would be in BG. Although I agree that to be legal it would require a GG path to its door. To pick up on Bluestone’s comment, all the rules say is ‘Hill’ so could be either gentle or difficult. Any additional qualification about this hill being gentle is not stated anywhere. I’m not saying that that your comment is historically incorrect but it just isn’t what is written in the purple book.
