Makes you wonder just what sacrifice has been made to turn that around!!! Small children….family pets…the usual sacrifices any real wargamer would make 😈 No. The real reason for Colin's bad run of form that day was (a) paulspier tipped him as the probable winner and (b) I had stolen his luck while we were having breakfast together in the hotel that morning. He no longer breakfasts with me.

How are things shaping up for this new season, Bill? P As far as I was aware, there has only been one tournament (Tarrington), so the winner of that is in the lead.

I enquired with Bill, who keeps track of such things, and he’s passed me the current standings. As he mentioned, these may well change after the Colours DBA next weekend (and we also have an event at Bakewell and the Eeeenglishh Open to finalise positions).
After ten events so far, and assuming I’ve read Bill’s chart right, after the PAWS Summer DBA the ‘top ten’ positions are as follows:-
1st Mark Johnson 71 pts
2nd Pete Duckworth 64 pts
3rd Mark Skelton 61 pts
4th Colin O’Shea 60 pts
5th Martin Smiff 53 pts
6th Pete Davis 47 pts
7th John Saunders 44 pts
8th Rob Rush 36 pts
9th Richard Pulley 35 pts
10th Paul Murgatroyd 33 pts
If you’re not shown here (41 others not shown above) and would like to know how you’re currently placed, drop me a line/post here.
Cheers all
Martin

Thanks for the update, Bill - any chance you could also add this year’s fixtures to the website for completeness? Cheers P

Hi all, I've retired to London from Brussels/Holland and am keen to play DBA again. Is there a list of tournaments coming up? Yours, Paul H Hi Paul Oooh not sure we want the extra competition based on your previous success on the continent!! However it will be nice to see you back again. If you look in the tournaments section in the forum, approx 14 entries down, Simon has drafted a list of possible tournaments for next year. (Some clever people could probably provide a link, but I'm not that savy!) For the rest of this year, there's a matched pairs at Bakewell tomorrow (maybe a bit short notice?) plus what used to be the Tarrington Tourney which is now the 'Cold Ash Clash' near Newbury on the 11th November, (contact Martin Myers) and I think there's the English Open in Portsmouth in late Oct. There will probably be either a HOTT or DBA competition at Recon in Pudsey on 3rd Dec. There's some possibility of a DBA in Sheffield late March next year in addition to Simon's list, but this still needs to be confirmed. Cheers
