The Urartians were known for building lots of forts along their border, and I wanted to have an encampment to represent this.
Luckily for me, my partner has far more artistic ability than I do and was more than willing to make some kind of mountain upon which I could place a 2mm fort that I picked up from Brigade Models. You should have seen the mountain I originally made. It looked like something you bagged off the sidewalk after your dog had done its business.
Anyways, my partner asked me for a picture of a mountain range in and around the area for the kingdom of Urartu so they could try and get the colours right. I am absolutely stunned at how close they came to getting the colours right!
I also got a kick out of some previous posts from snowcat wanting to have an edifice on a hill and the subsequent post by gorograd directing to that chapel, as it really reminded me of what I was trying to go for:
I am super duper happy with the result, and am eager to get it back to Canada so I can plop it on the table for a battle!

Ha! I just saw your photos and thought, "Hey there's the temple on the steep hill edifice idea!'. Great result. Looks fantastic.

I was pleasantly surprised that you had a similar idea to mine.

I can tell you Baldie I have a new appreciation for Cromwell and him painting his 2mm armies.
All I did was paint the fort, and trying to paint those tips red and not getting any red on the rest of the fort was an effort.
Not drinking any coffee beforehand certainly helped.

Congratulations to you both. I think the sculpt is amazing but not sure I would marry someone for it.
