Long term members of this site would remember Steve Webb, from Sydney Australia. Steve sadly passed away last weekend.
Steve was a leading member of the Sutherland club in Sydney, and was the clubs leader in Dba. Steve for many years until recently was the organiser of the dba competition at the clubs MOAB convention and also organised smaller tournaments regularly. He was a frequent contributor to the fanaticus website. Sadly he was affected by the 2.2 vs 3 schism, and had drifted away away from dba, playing Triumph instead.
A more devoted follower of 2.2 could not be found. He brought me into the game and was my regular opponent for many years. Steve will be sadly missed by all that knew him.

Bloody hell. I was only talking about him at MOAB on the weekend and got to wondering what he was up to, as he really took me in and taught me a lot about DBA. Very sad.

I still recall the first day I went to his place to meet up. I thought I really understood DBA and he totally dismantled me in that game....of course that wasn't the last time he handed me a DBA style beating.

Oh no, Steve introduced me to DBA many years ago. I was wondering where he was on the weekend.

Very sad news. Thoughts and prayers with him, family and friends. Sad news indeed. Is there anyone there to pick up the banner at MOAB? Joe Collins

Steve actually stopped being the dba organiser for MOAB 2 years ago. A guy from outside of Sydney, Greg Kellaher, does it now. Not sure that’s real important at moment.

Thanks for posting this very sad news Rob. I was speaking with Stephen last Friday as he helped me setup for MOAB and hearing the news on Sunday evening certainly came as a shock. Vale Stephen.

My condolences to Steve's family and friends. I never met Steve, but...
People like Steve make the hobby great, and are sorely missed when they're gone. Those who knew Steve will always have him with them in their fondest memories.

Vale Stephen. A gentle soul with a great interest in and knowledge of DBA. I meet him through MOAB about 5 years ago, and he always had time for a greeting and quick word of encouragement. It was a shock to hear the news on Sunday evening.

Stephen will be sorely missed.
He was one of the first players to come from outside Canberra to compete in my DBA Events and was instrumental in bringing others along. That in itself drove me to start attending MOAB and in turn the following for DBA grew across the Sydney-Canberra axis and beyond.
May he continue to roll 6s.
Cheers
