Not long ago, I saw a thread on here where people were comparing the number of armies they had.
I first started wargaming in the 1980s and enlarged some of the WRG 6th armies to fit the 'new' DBM rules. Now that I've changed to DBA 3.0 I've obviously got a large number of figures knocking around and have begun the process of conversion.
My problem now is that I almost certainly have 'too many armies'.
For example, I have the following, all painted but with many needing work on the bases:
I/1b. I/2, I/3, 1/4a, I/6, I/22, I/55d, I/59, II/5, II5g, II/10, II/16, II/19a, II/33, II/40, II/44, II/49, II/64, II/68, II/80, III/19c, III/52, III/53, III/8, IV/16.
I make that 25. Which is a coincidence, as these are all 25mm.
I haven't yet had the time to start listing my 15mm armies, but I know there are a lot more.
Is this just my problem or is there anybody else out there suffering the same?

Well, storage for one. How much room does one 25mm army take?

I have hit the 100 mark again with 15mm armies - you can see the full list in the thread "My Little Sample" in Building DBA Armies
I plan to go for more - after all DBA armies are like Pokémon - gotta catch em all.
Cheers

Def not starting a new force. Must finish my British cavalry, then the Romans, then the Pikes, then the etc etc etc
However me and three chums from Janco's went to The Joy Of Six, which was great and decided to go 6mm.
I got EAP and we are basing them on DBA bases but intend to use em with DBA, Lart, HC and Impetus.
Magnifying glass will be purchased.

I have some 6mm generic Greeks and they need an opponent. Are you using Baccus figures, or Rapier? How deep do you intend to base your sparabara? Both Baccus and Rapier were at the Joy of Six show. I enjoyed this years show, but not as much as last year (when there were DBA participation games). Cheers, Geoff

Got Rapier army set. I got EAP, the others got Spanish, EIP and Parthian's to ride round the rest of us. Like the look of some of their Biblical stuff too.
Good question on Spabara as one of the lads is just doing 80mm bases for Impetus but the rest of us are doing 40mm bases to use for different systems and sticking them together for Impetus. That's the plan for now anyway but expect a big block on a single 80mm base would look good. Mixed unit of Spear and Bow I am not sure as I don't know if the archers look like they would suit. Will have a play and see what looks good.

The latest of my armies to reach purple compliance (No 104) is the Bretons it's core is made up of figures I collected back in my WRG7th days
Presently I am also painting two new armies that are close to completion
III/26a Early Serbian - a mix of all sorts including Essex, QR Miniatures and Two Dragons
III/39 Later Tang and Five Dynasties Chinese - combining the best Tang figures from Essex (the new range), Khurusan and Outpost. I am quite pleased with how they are turning out
Cheers

Hmm, in 1/72, Polybian Roman, Carthaginian, Gallic, Teutonic Knights, Mongols, assorted medieval elements to morph with. In 15mm, Double Hun and Frank armies, Patrician Roman, various Gothic armies, triple Later Swiss, 2 Condotta armies, dismounted knights, lots of peasant hordes for morphing. Other Fencibles have Macedonian, various hoplite Greek, Persians, triple Burgundian, HYW French and English, large EIR force, late Rome/early Byzantines, probably some other stuff.
Seriously considering double Parthian army.
