You might be lucky, but I think you might need to come North to Alvechurch, south to Alton area and possibly East to London.
I cannot remember a competition at Oxford, which implies not many local players.
Good luck, for competitions you are in a good start point.

I think Alvechurch and Alton may be a bit far for regular gaming....

Good luck.
As a Freeman of the city I still support Oxford in the boat race, and many years ago my grandfather was a director of Oxford United.

It is worth looking at competitions at Tarrington and Alton in particular, being nearest, Bakewell if you can.
Tarrington is a real brain teaser, you take an army and play six games, once with your army, once against your army, four times with other peoples.
Alton matched pairs means you play with your or your opponents armies.

Try the Oxford Warmes Society: www.oxfordwargamessociety.org.uk/rules.htmlThe Oxford Wargames Society meets in the Wolvercote Village Hall which is on the corner of Godstow Road and Wolvercote Green in Wolvercote which is to the north west of Oxford.

Been to Wolvercote a couple of times already, but the folk there are only interested in playing FOG.

Hi All, Looking to get back into DBA after 15 year break.....don't suppose there are any opponents near Oxford UK? Jesse Hi Jesse. We have an active DBA/HOTT community in Coventry. its a bit of a day out. We have HOTT Godiva coming up if you fancy some light relief. Then I will be running a DBA 3.0 event early next summer Mercian DBA. Watch the tournaments section for date and details.

I "might" be living in Oxford next year. All depends on how badly I mess up my final work for uni this year.
