Hi Martin, First off thanks for adding some pictures here. I am always inspired by the creative armies I see you all do over there. We had some creativity this time as well. I'll be announcing next years theme shortly and it always makes me anxious to see what gets fielded.
As for the voting for the Barker Award and the Beattie Stronghold Award that will take place shortly after the last Legs have been played and I receive everyone's pictures of their Leg's contender. We have the MidWest Leg tomorrow, and unless I am missing something I think that brings this years GBnU to a close. So hope to have everything I need shortly after that. I'll need to check and see who I'm missing contestant photos form.
Thanks for your support and for helping make the Staines such a success. By the way I love your Spartan army and am sorry it didn't fare better. I played my Ninja army with Lady Snowblood as a Paladin, and managed two wins, but since David Crenshaw always cheats I lost that one. Well, he may not exactly cheat.....he just rolls higher die numbers than I do, so in his case, that's cheating isn't it!

Terry Thanks Terry....it's always fun to see the intriguing armies people come up with. There are some very imaginative brains out there in the Hott world. The Spartans had a lot of fun, and more success than I expected. Being twice trampled by Warband armies wasn't one of my expectations, however - under DBA warband are often outclassed these days, and I was caught on the hop. I used up ALL my luck when Ares, god of war, not only materialised but also hung around long enough to 6-1 the enemy general (Andres' Greek Wars of Indepenance warband gen). .. Also, having never used a Paladin before it was a 'learning experience', as I hadn't realised how brittle they are- great when they win, dead when they don't (helped keep enemy magicians in check, though). However, despite my lack of knowledge of the rules, it was great fun. Staines run a good tournament, and there was, as you know, an excellent turnout of 16 players, the best I've seen at Hott around these parts. Looking forward to the pics, as and when. cheers Martin

Those 1821 Greeks are lovely, retro style figures.
It's a shame they're no longer commercially available. Another range of figures I regret not buying at the time...
